Hi, I'm Peyton Franks, and I am stoked to share the incredible backstory of Happy Brew from my perspective. My parents, John and Amy, as well as the Brew Crew, are the heart behind Happy Brew, where they work tirelessly to ensure great customer experiences and smooth operations.
The idea of Happy Brew started about 5 years ago when Southside Methodist Church joined the Missing Voices Project in summer 2019. We wanted to create something special that supported individuals with IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities). Our MVP team, made up of high schoolers and adults, brainstormed and collaborated, aiming to give people with IDD a voice and job opportunities.
Â
Through collaboration with the Friends ministry, we created a Capernaum club, but our vision expanded further: we wanted to provide real job experiences for youth with IDD. Happy Brew was then born with lots of community guidance, numerous Zoom meetings, and generous donors.
A few guys I would like to specifically give a shout out to are Jake, Garrett, and Raymond. Garrett was a key member on our team for the Missing Voices Project. Garrett goes to my church and whenever I see him the guys get rowdy. Garrett brings fun wherever he goes, whether that be Capernaum camp at Southwind, or the mission site in Guatemala. Next up is Ray Ray, an absolute stud on the drums. Raymond is an all-star at pranks and jokes. He is a great friend of mine who is always down to grab lunch and chill, and a buddy to hit the beach with. Lastly, Jake! My night to shine king for 2 years running and hopefully many more. Jake is not afraid to challenge you to a game of basketball or any sport and can hang with all the boys as well.
These guys inspire me to live a life full of joy and have shown me what true laughter is.

To all involved in Happy Brew's creation and those supporting our dreams—from the OG Missing Voices Project team to the people who support us today—thank you for making this possible and continuing to believe in us.
